SPRING 2024 YOUTH MENTORSHIP PROGRAMME
This mentorship programme offered young people the opportunity to learn from experienced, past participating HKWALLS artists to hone their skills, try new techniques, develop their creative ideas, and learn the logistics behind painting murals. The 3 selected mentees this year finished their mentorship by painting their own individual murals at the AIA Observation Wheel in Central as a part of the HKWALLS 2024 Festival!

TOM TSANG WITH KATOL
Tom Tsang @tsangkinhang who worked with Mentor Katol @katolone, is a local artist with a passion for graphic design and illustrations. He draws inspiration from comics and contemporary graphic design, displaying a blend of complex lines, vibrant colours, and dynamic compositions.
SIUKINS WITH TAT
Local illustrator Siukins @siukins exploredthe theme of “overthinking” with mentor Tat @tat_graphicairlines in his creation. Through introspection and personal experiences, he delves into the complexities of human emotions, as well as the relationship between thoughts and individuals. The recurring thought bubbles represented the swirling ideas and emotions in his mind, presenting intangible cluttered thoughts in an engaging and playful manner.
WING MAK WITH PARENTSPARENTS
Wing Mak @grandma_soul worked with mentor Parents Parents @parentsparents. Wing Mak is a self-taught artist based in Hong Kong. Her art is a visual record of a self-exploring journey through the lens of depression, which mainly varies with human vulnerability in emotional, mental, and spiritual states. Drawing inspiration from subconscious awareness and meditative experiences, she enjoys exploring different mediums like acrylic and mural painting and hosting meditative workshops to expand her artistic diversity and possibilities as an emerging artist.
