Amy Maria Tong is a Hong Kong artist known for her abstract still life and portraits. In contrast to those who believe still life painting is antiquated and boring, Amy finds her work liberating and derives great joy from exploring the relationship between organic subjects and light. Inspired by artists such as Matisse and Rauschenberg, her art is a riposte against the negative reputation of still life painting. “My work is an examination of the different forms still life takes. Putting them in different scenarios and altering them in an abstract form is a way to evoke emotion, questioning the fear mongering aspect of the alienating society we’ve found ourselves subjected to – willingly or not, and trying to bring a sense of calm juxtaposed by a still tranquil form” says Amy.

Amy Maria Tong 是一位香港藝術家，作品主要是抽象的靜物畫和肖像畫。有些人認為靜物畫陳舊而模糊，但Amy卻享受在創作中探索生物與光之間的關係，從而釋放並獲得巨大的喜悅。受馬蒂斯和勞森伯格等藝術家的影響，她的藝術作品挑戰人們對靜物畫的看法。Amy說：「我的創作是要對不同形式的靜物進行考察。將它們置於不同的場景並加以抽象化，是帶動情感的一種方式；願意與否，向我們身處的疏離化社會所瀰漫的恐懼感作出質疑，亦試圖從靜止、寧靜的形式裡對照出平靜的感覺。」

Daisuke Tajima is a multi-disciplinary artist hailing from Japan whose expertise ranges from paintings to sculptures but is most well-known for his drawings of imaginary cityscapes. Daisuke’s art is a unique combination of his manga-influenced style and his visual understanding of architecture, resulting in absurdly detailed and meticulous renderings.

Espen Cook is a Norwegian visual artist and DJ based in Hong Kong. Founder of music and culture initiative ‘Club Kowloon’, Espen mainly focuses on painting but has experimented with various mediums and materials. His art is made by gathering impressions and drawing inspiration from different people and cultures. Espen’s Club Kowloon will also be responsible for curating music and DJs during public events at The Nate.

Espen Cook 是一位挪威視覺藝術家及DJ，於香港工作。作為音樂和文化團體Club Kowloon的創辦人，Espen專注於繪畫，亦嘗試過各種媒介和物料的創作。他的藝術從不同的人與文化中汲取靈感製作而成。Club Kowloon還會為The Nate的公共活動策劃及安排音樂和DJ演出。

Go Hung, a local sculpture artist and former HKwalls festival artist, uses his art to highlight the various social issues that plagues Hong Kong and the world as whole. Using cardboard and other materials collected from the streets, his finished pieces are ‘littered’ back onto the streets for public viewing; his practice being a metaphor for the wasteful consumerist culture he currently resides in. “I have been using cardboard a lot as my main material to produce street sculptures, but I’ve also been feeling guilty being a competitor with people who need them to survive” he remarked. In response, Go Hung will attempt to produce a new body of work made using discarded plastic straps, juxtaposing the destitute nature of his art against the affluent neighborhood it finds itself in.

Go Hung 是本地雕塑家及前HKwalls藝術節藝術家，透過藝術展示香港和世界各地的各種社會問題。他收集街道上的紙皮和不同材料進行創作，把完成的作品「丟回」街上，讓公眾看見，他的行為是要隱喻我們正身處一種浪費的消費文化。他說：「我一直使用紙皮作為我製作街頭雕塑的主要材料，但因此我感到內疚，因為我與真正需要靠紙皮維生的人爭奪材料。」為此，Go Hung將使用被廢棄的塑膠帶製作新的作品，把其藝術展現的貧苦性置於身處的富裕社區。
