EL RUGHI AT 5 MEE LUN ST.

El Rughi is a self-taught artist who discovered his passion for graffiti at an early age. He constantly pushes the boundaries of his creative expression through his visual style shaped by years of independent exploration. Inspired by underground comics, psychedelic culture, and contemporary graphics, El Rughi’s eclectic work has brought him to street art festivals across Europe.

Nonna Vibes.

“The last mural I created in Hong Kong for HKWalls is a psychedelic tapestry where vibrant color patterns flow alongside animals, abstract shapes, and oneiric figures. During my travels, I always carry a sketchbook—an essential companion to capture fleeting moments of inspiration. I’m especially drawn to portraying elderly women, or ‘Nonnas’ (the term we use for grandmothers in Italian), focusing on their expressions and the rich textile patterns they wear—motifs that often embody the cultural heritage they carry with them.

This mural is a tribute to all the Nonnas around the world.”
