Carson is an artist from Hong Kong, born in Vancouver, raised in Shanghai, and studied graphic design in London. And early mural artist looking to expand my mural resume and world. I was one of the five mentees of HKwalls’ early 2022 mentorship program under Kris Ho, and while extremely grateful for the experience, I am hoping to be able to take part in next year’s proper HKwalls festival and meet some more street and local artists I may have missed the chance to this year. With a previous body of illustrative and pen work probably most similar to Kristopher’s (in HK artists’ lineup), I am looking to continue on with further larger scale work with black line detail as the base that holds together whatever I come up with. Working on my first wall sized piece on the vinyl banner for the mentorship was lifechanging, mainly for the opportunity to physically work something out to that scale, and seeing what can be done, if I were to have more opportunities like it. Currently working on my first proper outdoor wall mural, being invited by La Cabane in Central, and beginning to experience larger scale pieces in more unconventional shaped canvas areas. Through there I continue to explore scenes of surrealistic animals and creatures in my own made up style.
