JELMER KONJO

At S313 — Jelmer Konjo, a Rotterdam-based graduate of the Willem de Kooning Academy, interrogates the rigid norms of adulthood through whimsical, process-driven art. Transforming playground equipment and unconventional materials into tactile sculptures, Konjo revives childhood’s fearless creativity, challenging the utilitarian mindset of modern life. His work—a fusion of playfulness and philosophical inquiry—celebrates mistakes, experimentation, and the subversion of functionality. By recontextualizing familiar objects (like swings or slides), he questions how societal expectations shape perception. Konjo’s installations, showcased in European galleries, act as tactile provocations, urging audiences to reclaim imagination as a radical act of resistance.

REINIER LANDWEHR

At H201 — Rotterdam’s Reinier Landwehr (b. 1992) crafts kaleidoscopic worlds where dreams and nightmares collide. A multidisciplinary artist working across murals, paintings, and sculpture, Landwehr merges playful motifs—smiley faces, surreal flora—with undercurrents of darkness, balancing humor and existential tension. His vibrant, hallucinatory style invites viewers into alternate realities where time and logic dissolve, reflecting his fascination with the subconscious. Exhibited internationally, Landwehr’s work disrupts passive observation, urging audiences to embrace contradiction and discover layered narratives in color-saturated chaos. His contributions to the show exemplify art’s power to navigate the liminal space between fantasy and reality.

PABLO GALLERY

At S314 — Pablo Art Gallery is a Manila-based hub for radical creativity, fostering synergies between street art, graffiti, and experimental practices. Now operating as Post Gallery, it champions sustainability and grassroots art movements. For this show, Pablo collaborates with Le Dernier Cri, the Marseille-based serigraphy workshop led by Pakito Bolino. Since 1993, Le Dernier Cri has been synonymous with “undergraphic” art—bold, hallucinatory prints and books that reject convention. With over 400 publications and anarchic projects like Hôpital Brut magazine, Bolino’s collective merges raw visual energy with global collaborations. Their works, produced in limited editions, challenge passive consumption, offering visceral, color-saturated experiences. Pakito Bolino’s screen-printing mastery and Pablo Gallery’s streetwise ethos unite to spotlight art’s untamed edges.

HOPARE’S “INDIGO MEMORIES”

At S106 — Marking HKwalls’ 10th anniversary and the debut of Hopare’s site-specific installation, “Indigo Memories,” intertwines PMQ’s layered history as a tribute to the building’s past—from its origins as a dormitory to its current role as a cultural hub—the work centers on a figure inspired by stories shared by former PMQ tenants, weaving their collective memories into Hopare’s signature abstract style. Its muted indigo tones and fluid lines reflect the quiet resilience of PMQ’s legacy, while the central character serves as a subtle nod to the lives and creativity that have shaped the space over decades. This ROOMS an accompanying exhibition of Hopare’s works, featuring a curated selection of prints and original pieces, alongside the monumental “Indigo Memories” installation.

KC Wong

At H303 — KC Wong is a Hong Kong-based multidisciplinary artist and cultural provocateur, blending sneaker art, illustration, and recycled materials to dissect consumer culture and social hierarchies. As the founder of Sick Sick Creation (a storytelling-driven creative agency) and ARTube (a dynamic art platform), Wong bridges street culture and high art with incisive wit. His exhibition Hall of Unfamed reimagines sneakers—ubiquitous symbols of status—as stylized portraits adorned with recycled elements and visible brand logos. By juxtaposing luxury commodification with societal critique, Wong challenges viewers to confront the paradox of identity in a consumerist world. His work, exhibited across Asia and featured in media like Hypebeast, transforms everyday objects into mirrors of cultural ambition and inequality.
