Forget-Me-Not

“Forget-me-not,” The possible side effects of having one too many drinks include, but are not limited to: lowered inhibitions and exposed feelings. Since this mural is located in LKF, I decided the theme of my mural would be emotional vulnerability (with a more wholesome twist). Simply put, it’s about expressing gratitude towards the people and environment around us. The forget-me-not flowers are there as a symbol of remembrance, to keep in mind how lucky we are to have certain people and things in our lives. And a reminder to always try and sustain a work-life balance amidst the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong’s city life.

Reana is a Filipina artist based in Hong Kong. Most of her work is created digitally, but she occasionally likes to dabble with paint, pen and markers when drawing traditionally. She pulls inspiration from animated TV shows and movies that she grew up with, as well as her own personal experiences. In her work, she tries to highlight the fantasy and kookiness that can be found in mundane reality through bright colours and playful imagery. Reana’s work has been showcased and sold in recent years during Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong. She has also participated in the HKWALLS Youth Mentorship Programme, and has worked with brands including Casetify and Shake Shack.
